Victoria Wiswall Betts, a daughter of Archdeacon and Mrs. Darby Wood Betts of Santa Rosa, Calif., Wellesley, Mass., and Castine, Me., was married at Trinity Episcopal Chapel in Castine yesterday to Friedrich Mariacher, a son of Mrs. Hans Johann Mariacher of Mayrhofen, Austria, and the late Mr. Mariacher. The bride’s father, who is retired from the Episcopal Diocese of California, performed the ceremony.

Mrs. Mariacher, a graduate of the Anna Head School in Oakland, Calif., and the University of California at Berkeley, expects to receive a master’s degree in international studies from Lesley College next June. Her father, a former Canon of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, also served as Dean of St. John’s Cathedral in Providence, R.I. Her mother, Elaine Wiswall Betts, is headmistress of the Dana Hall School in Wellesley. The bride is a granddaughter of Mrs. Frank L. Wiswall of Castine, whose late husband was a lawyer and a New York State Senator.

Mr. Mariacher, an executive chef for the Royal Viking Line, was formerly with the Grand Hotel in Stockholm and Maxim’s in Paris. He graduated from the Berufschule fur das Gastgewerbe in Absam, Tirol, and received a diploma from Kammer der Gewerblichen Wirtschaft in Innsbruck, Austria.
